Roswell Pro Audio Colares • Boutique Vocal Condenser Microphone
The Colares is a large-body condenser microphone with a larger than life sound. It is our flagship vocal microphone, and excels at injecting color, vibe, excitement, and life to a track.
This is not a neutral or transparent microphone. It is unapologetically rich in both tone and harmonics. The design inspiration was the Telefunken ElaM 251, but our goal was to deliver all the detail and vintage tone of the 251 without the cost, maintenance hassle, or noise floor of a tube microphone.
The Colares has two unique features: a pad/voicing switch and a 3-way filter switch. Learn more about these in the Description tab below, on this page.

Mojave Audio MA-1000DS - Multi Pattern Tube Condenser Microphone
The MA-1000 is a large-diaphragm Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Microphone, designed by Technical Grammy award winning microphone designer David Royer. Inspired from some of yesterday’s most revered microphones, this modern tube microphone features an original new old-stock 5840 tube, a 251-style capsule, and a custom-designed transformer built by Coast Magnetics. Among its notable attributes, the MA-1000 includes a remotely controlled, continuously variable polar pattern selector (omnidirectional to figure-eight) that is located on microphone’s power supply.
The MA-1000 also offers a switchable 15dB pad that facilitates high SPL recordings with no microphone distortion or preamplifier overload. This is particularly useful for close miking electric guitars. Similarly, the microphone provides a switchable low frequency roll-off designed to reduce the excess low end created by proximity effect, the bass buildup commonly experienced during close miking of vocals and acoustic instruments. The LF roll-off capability is also useful when miking electric guitars where less low end buildup is desired.
With world-class components, the new MA-1000 delivers a sweet, airy top end, ‘you-are-there’ realism in the mids, and an accurate yet authoritative bottom end. The microphone ships with an innovative shock mount design that was created by and licensed from Royer Labs.

PEARLMAN MICROPHONES TM-250
This new addition to the PEARLMAN line is a limited edition, custom order recreation of the famous Telefunken 250. Starting at the top this microphone utilizes a C12 type capsule hand-made in Denmark by Tim Campbell. A genuine AKG™ CK-12 capsule can be installed (whenever they are available) for an additional price. Old style carbon resistors are used in the audio circuit to maintain the original sound. A select 6072 (12AY7) tube is hand picked and tested for use in the microphone as only the best tubes will be used.
The CINEMAG output transformer is an accurate replica of the original part from a sixties era Tele 250 and delivers that beautiful, vintage smoothness.
All mics are still hand-made one at a time and are wired point-to-point. Included in the system is the custom American made power supply, shockmount, hand wired Mogami cable, and a smart looking aluminum carrying case.
PEARLMAN MICROPHONES CHURCH MICROPHONE
The PEARLMAN “CHURCH” microphone is a faithful remake of the Stanley Church MGM microphone from the 1950’s. Dave Pearlman has stayed true to the original schematics including the use of vintage, refurbished K47 and M7 capsules, a hand selected 6072 dual triode (12AY7) and the original TRIAD transformer that is being made again especially for PEARLMAN MICROPHONES after fifty years of it not being available.
The CHURCH mic is built in the same housing as the TM-1 and comes with all the goodies; power supply, shockmount, handbuilt Mogami cable and aluminum carrying case. This is truly a limited edition mic as only a limited number can be built. You will not believe your ears. Please inquire for International Shippng.
PEARLMAN MICROPHONES TM-2
The PEARLMAN TM-2 is the answer to the many requests to offer a smaller, more affordable version of the TM-1. The mic is build around a military spec 6AK5 (EF95) pentode and uses the same basic point to point circuit as the TM-1 with a few small differences.
The TM-2 uses a 32mm American made capsule and comes with all the same “case candy” as all the PEARLMAN mics; power supply, shockmount, hand made cable and aluminum carrying case.
The TM-2 was designed to fit around a drum set and into small spaces and is a great tool in the studio for acoustic instruments as well as for recording vocals. Please inquire about International Shipping. Organically grown.
If you look for a Neumann U-67 clone, you are at the right place!
Royer Labs R-122 MKII - Active Ribbon Microphone
In 2002 we introduced the R-122, the world’s first phantom powered, active ribbon™ microphone. It was a revolutionary development in ribbon mics, combining impedance matching circuitry with condenser-like output levels that allowed the R-122 to be used on even the quietest sound sources. It also allowed the mic to be paired to virtually any preamplifier.
The R-122 MKll takes the R-122 to a whole new level, delivering unprecedented flexibility for ribbons via the addition of a switchable -15 dB pad and a switchable bass-cut filter. The switches are completely out of the circuit when disengaged so when both are off, the microphone is for all purposes an original R-122. The switches are located on the back of the microphone and recessed to prevent accidental activation.

Roswell Pro Audio Mini K87 is a high-resolution condenser microphone with a neutral voicing. It aspires to transparency rather than color. Yet it retains enough character to capture and communicate the emotion of the source.
The mic's sound comes from a combination of a specially tuned K67/K87-style capsule and a circuit that we've designed to enhance and complement it. The final voicing of the microphone is a manual process that enables us to create a very consistent sound.
The Mini K87 excels on vocals (sung and spoken, including voiceover and podcasting), guitars, acoustic strings, and drum overheads.

Mojave Audio MA-37- Mojave’s take on the classic Sony C-37a
Retro. Futuristic. We are proud to introduce Technical Grammy Award Winner David Royer’s modern take on a legend – the Sony C-37a. Known for its high headroom and ability to tame brittle high end, it became a workhorse in the 60’s, especially during the golden age of Hollywood recording – the “Wrecking Crew’ era. Studios such as Capitol Records and Sunset Sound acquired multiples, which are still use today. From Leonard Bernstein and the Columbia Symphony Orchestra and VO legend Mel Blanc (the voice of over 400 characters, from Bugs Bunny to Barney Rubble) though producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Peter Gabriel) and current artists, such as Bon Iver, the C-37a remains a ‘secret weapon’ microphone for those in the know. David Royer, who has been a fan of the C-37a for thirty years, has long desired to o er his updated version to the Mojave family – and that time has come. He states, “Sony took a completely different approach than Neumann and AKG, which made the C-37a a completely different animal”.
Royer SF-24 Stereo Active Ribbon Microphone
The SF-24 stereo ribbon microphone is a phantom-powered version of our popular SF-12 stereo ribbon microphone. Mojave Audio MA-D
After years of intensive research, we have finally designed a dynamic microphone we could put the Mojave name on. Designed by Technical Grammy Award Winner David Royer, we proudly introduce the Mojave MA-D Cardioid Dynamic. While there are many well-known dynamic mics on the market, most of which are known for their “presence peak”, we set out to design the Smooth Alternative. The MA-D delivers a full frequency response without the harshness common to most common dynamics, creating the richness and musicality we set out to capture.
Designed initially to be a hand-held microphone for vocalists, the MA-D does double duty on all types of instruments.
- Vocals
- Drums
- Guitar and Bass Amps
- Brass
Roswell Pro Audio's Mini K47 has become a favorite on drum overheads for many of our customers. See multiple example videos that demonstrate how these mics sound on drums.
We match Mini K47s to 0.5dB in sensitivity (measured at 1kHz), and about 1.5dB in frequency response, 50Hz–15kHz. Acoustic testing is done at Roswell HQ in northern California.
Each microphone includes our exclusive Cutaway™ metal-frame shockmount (with spare elastics), and an aluminum flight case. We also include two Roswell branded microfleece storage bags for the microphones.
The Vanguard V13 is a large-diaphragm multi-pattern tube condenser microphone. Crafted by experts over the course of 3 years, the design goal was to combine vintage warmth with smooth modern detail. After extensive testing and listening by world-class engineers, we can say with pride that the performance of this mic rivals or exceeds iconic vintage & modern microphones at a fraction of the cost.
Original spider type metal shockmount for Pearlman microphones, equipped with a 25 mm diameter screw base.
The microphone is screwed directly on the suspension allowing the elastics to offer a better resistance to vibrations.
Attention, this suspension is not suitable for all microphones. Please refer to the compatible models.
Royer Labs R-121 Live Ribbon Microphone
The R-121 Live is a ruggedized version of the popular R-121 ribbon microphone. The studio R-121 is tough and has been used on the road for years, but the increased durability of the R-121 Live gives FOH engineers greater confidence in the ribbon standing up to the rigors of the road.
The R-121 Live’s output level is comparable to a dynamic mic, and it delivers the warm, realistic tone that only a ribbon mic can. Along with its smooth, natural response, the R-121 Live virtually eliminates the shrill high-end often associated with live guitars and brass. Push up the faders and there’s the instrument in all its fullness and natural glory, minus the peaky highs that FOH and Monitor engineers spend so much of their careers fighting.
Roswell Pro Audio Mini K87 Matched Pair to 0.5dB in sensitivity (measured at 1kHz), and about 1.5dB in frequency response, 50Hz–15kHz. Acoustic testing is done at Roswell HQ in northern California. The matching procedure uses a calibrated, proprietary low-diffraction speaker to produce a swept sine wave, which we record with each Mini K87 to measure both sensitivity and frequency response. Each microphone is also auditioned by Roswell staff as a part of our rigorous QC process.
Each microphone includes our exclusive Cutaway™ metal-frame shockmount (with spare elastics). Matched pairs ship in a single stereo-pair aluminum flightcase, which holds two microphones and two shockmounts.
Roswell Pro Audio Mini K67X Matched Pair
Mini K67x is a compact, large-diaphragm condenser with harmonic coloration from its transformer-coupled circuit. The voicing is not overtly colored, but is not as neutral as the Mini K87; the upper mids (4-7kHz) are slightly scooped, and the rolloff above 12kHz is very gradual, giving the mic extended "air."
Each K67x is built by hand in California, burned in, and extensively tested.
Matching Criteria
We match these mics to 0.5dB in sensitivity (measured at 1kHz), and 1.5dB (or better) in frequency response, 50Hz–15kHz.

The RS124, a “variable-mu” compressor circuit, was built for use at Abbey Road Studios, and was never commercially available until now.
Along with features traditionally found on the original counterparts, Input control, Output attenuation, ‘Recovery’ (release) control and the unique ‘HOLD’ setting, the Chandler Limited RS124 Compressor includes modern facilities such as adjustable attack, selectable output impedance, and a special twist, dubbed the ‘SuperFuse’.
The RS124 brings home the sound of a legend, reimagined for the modern era, today.
Chandler Limited TG2 - Two Channel Mic Preamp/DI
The Chandler Limited TG2 is a recreation of the rare EMI TG12428 pre amp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles used in the late 60's and early 70's. The sound was used on many famous recordings done at Abbey Road including The Beatles "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon." The amplifiers were also used in many EMI circuits of the time. Our version was remade from original design notes and circuit board drawings, provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticity!
This Mic Pre features the same discrete transformer balanced amplifiers as the TG series limiter and offers a creamy, smooth tone with a surprisingly open, clear top end (dare we say nicer than Neve....) The sound, as explained by many users, has the Neve "warmth" and punch, but with a "nicer" expanded top end. In fact the unit does have a small rise in its top end frequency response and some warmth inducing distortion which contribute to its sound.
Chandler Limited TG1 Limiter - Dual EMI Abbey Road Compressor/Limiter
The Chandler Limited TG1 is a recreation of the classic EMI TG12413 Limiter used in custom EMI and Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles from the late 60's. The TG Limiter was originally designed to be like the Fairchild 660/670 which was loved by many EMI engineers, including Geoff Emerick, but ended up with a very special sound all its own. These rare pieces were never commercially available and only EMI owned studios had access to them. Our version has been remade from the original design information and circuit board drawings as provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticity!
TG1 Updates & Modifications: Harmonic Distortion Function
Now standard on all Abbey Road Special Edition TG-1's, this option allows bypassing of the compressor/limiter threshold but leaves all circuits in the signal path, turning the unit into a powerful Harmonic Distortion generator capable of kicking out up to 2% Total Harmonic Distortion. That's more than 2 times the amount of analog tape! And all with 100% discrete transformer balanced circuits. Adjust the input for amount of THD and the output to match level. Try running Distortion on one channel and hard limiting on the other. The ultimate in retro! This option is placed on the front panel of the unit with a toggle switch for each channel.
Chandler Limited TG Microphone - Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
The Chandler Limited EMI Abbey Road Studios ‘TG Microphone’ is a solid-state large diaphragm condenser microphone. Continuing the rich tradition of innovation, the TG Microphone is unique in its feature-set and as the name implies, the sound is TG.
The TG Microphone’s unique on-board EMI ‘Tape Equalizer’ section combined with its ‘Dual Tone System’, dedicated PSU and other features create an extremely flexible microphone capable of rivaling scenarios where the FET47, C414, U87, and U47 traditionally have found favor.
The Tape Equalizer is adapted from the NAB/IEC tape equalizer facility found on vintage EMI TG mastering desks, and applied to great effect in the TG Microphone. Historically used to compensate for tapes played back on machines of the opposite standard, the repurposed tape equalizer allows the engineer to sculpt the sound at the source in lieu of external processing.
The microphones shaping possibilities are further expanded when the Tape Equalizer is combined with the selectable 90/50 Hz Low-Cut filter.

Chandler Limited Zener Limiter - TG 12413 Zener Limiter
The EMI TG12413 Zener Limiter is the ultimate TG Limiter issued in celebration of the 75th birthday of Abbey Road Studios. The Zener Limiter was conceived by Chandler Limited designer Wade Goeke and is based on the vintage EMI circuits used to record The Beatles and Pink Floyd. This newest EMI Limiter continues the tradition of EMI Limiters started in 1956 with the RS114 tube limiter, and continued with the RS168 Zener Limiter in 1966, part of the TG12345 console channel in 1968 and TG12413 in 1974. The newest version borrows from the RS168 Zener Limiter and TG12345 console strip to make a new fully featured and flexible unit for modern use. It is interesting to note that the TG Limiter was originally designed to replace both the Fairchild 660 (Limit Mode) and the Altec 436 / RS124 (Comp 1 Mode)
The main reason for Zener Limiter reissue was to add features and flexibility to the powerful and vintage sounding TG limiter circuits. To that end Wade has added many new controls including switchable input impedance for hard of soft driving of the unit, 11 position attack, 21 position release, side chain filtering, and Comp1, Comp2, and Limit settings.
A simple Limiter from the rich past of EMI and Abbey Road has now come full circle into a modern powerhouse suitable for recording, mixing, and mastering. The rest is NEW Chandler Limited/EMI/Abbey Road history....

The TG Opto compressor control-set includes: selectable sharp and rounded knees, continuous input, output (makeup gain), attack, release, and true bypass.
CHANDLER LIMITED TG12411 Channel - TG Channel MKII Channel Strip
The Chandler Limited TG12411 channel, formerly known as the TG Channel MKII, is a recreation of several classic circuits - combining Wade Goeke's design of the TG2 pre amp section with an equalizer that was redesigned from a circuit used in the TG12410 Transfer Console, the mastering counterpart to the original "Beatles desks."
The active portions of the unit use the same discrete amplifiers and transformers as in the TG1 Limiter and TG2 pre amp. The TG12411's passive equalizer EQ is an all inductor design offering sweet high frequencies, large inductor based lows, and a very high "Q" mid cut section. Its sound is very comparable to Pultec and Lang program EQs. A simple description would be a TG Pultec with a TG pre amp thrown in.
All TG units require and function on the PSU-1, Chandler Limited power supply. The PSU-1 has an internal switch for setting voltage to 120V or 220V (115V/230V). For more information please call us at (319) 885-4200.

Chandler Limited Little Devil Preamp
The Little Devil Pre Amp might be the best piece of Chandler gear yet! Several things make it so special.
The class A gain stage sounds like no other design we've done. It's big, yet open and full of life. Just about any parameter of the sound is changeable including the ability to change both the Feedback and Bias of the amplifier. The Feedback control increases harmonics thousands of times over the range of the control. The nature of clipping and distortion also changes and ranges from soft Class A clipping to super soft gushy tube type. The sounds range from a very colored and "overbiased" tone to a gently colored and "in your face" tone.
The Chandler Limited Mini Mixer is the culmination of Chandler's experience working with many types of vintage, discrete circuits. The Mini Rack Mixer traces its lineage back to several types of these amplifiers developed in the 60's and 70's that have been Chandlerized for modern usage.
