Quality
The V1+LOLLI was designed in the USA, and undergoes final assembly in sunny Southern California. We perform 100% quality control – every single piece of your V1+LOLLI kit undergoes a series of stringent audio and visual tests here in Southern California before being hand-packed. We precision-bias each high-grade JFET by hand on a calibrated analog oscilloscope (a Tektronix 465B).
Every part of the V1+LOLLI was designed to be robust and reliable. Wherever possible, the circuitry is over-spec’ed. Deep-cycle cryogenic treatment improves the lifespan and performance of critical electronic components. Brass, steel, aircraft-grade aluminum and zinc are part of the heavy-duty construction.

Design
The VANGUARD V1+LOLLI is very different from other microphones in its price range. It is designed and precision-built in limited quantities to “no-compromise” standards, with final assembly and 100% testing taking place here in Southern California. We spent more than three years designing, developing and refining the V1+LOLLI.
Our small-diaphragm capsules begin with a 16mm 4µm gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm, carefully positioned in front of a precision-machined, custom-voiced backplate. We engineered the housing to bring the diaphragm as close as possible to the front of the capsule housing, preventing comb filtering.
The V34C “LOLLI” Capsule houses an extra-large 34mm edge-terminated, gold-sputtered 3µm Mylar dual-capsule assembly which is custom-voiced with a proprietary hand-tuning process. It is placed in a shockmount saddle nestled in a retro-aesthetic chassis CNC-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum billets. Open-weave mesh, a carefully radiused interior, and precision-machined venting prevent standing reflections and allow for an “open-air” voicing. We engineered the V34C LOLLI head to spin 360 degrees while mounted on the V1, allowing for quick Y-axis positioning adjustments with no futzing around with mic stands.
The capsule is coupled to a transformer-balanced solid-state circuit that matches the unique musical properties of our capsules and is loaded with premium-grade, over-spec components sourced from manufacturers all over the world. We cryogenically treat critical components in the signal & power paths, including an ultra-high-grade hand-biased JFET. The circuit is designed with an “In = Out” philosophy, with only four components present in the signal path.
Aesthetically speaking, we think a microphone should look at least half as good as it sounds. The precision-machined brass body is coated with our signature Pinot Noir hue, finished with a deep, lustrous gloss, and accented by polished nickel trim and a precision-cast Vanguard badge. Your microphone’s serial number is laser-engraved on the lower rear of the microphone.

We designed the V1+LOLLI with the character and versatility of iconic pencil condensers in mind, while also utilizing modern technology & design to meet the demands of today’s recording professionals.
The V1+LOLLI kit was created to be the most flexible and adaptable microphone in your locker. The four small capsules allow tonal variety on any number of sources, but we found them to be exceptionally well-suited for close-to-medium-range mic’ing of acoustic guitar, percussion, piano, and stringed instruments. (The wide cardioid capsule in particular deserves special mention here as our favorite, but each capsule has sources and situations in which it excels.)
The V34C “LOLLI” capsule adds another level to your toolkit by coupling the smooth, lush sound of our custom-voiced V13 capsule with the precision and detail of the V1 microphone. The LOLLI excels in almost any recording situation, with vocals being of particular note.
After hundreds of hours of listening and testing exhaustive design variations with world-class engineers, we can confidently say that this microphone will exceed the performance of other pencil condenser microphones in its price range, and rival or exceed the performance of microphones costing several times more.

When you buy a V1+LOLLI kit, you also get a VSSM Heavy-Duty Shockmount. We wanted to improve on the standard “tube” design that was popularized by our chief designer in the late 2000s.
First, we created a windowed design for the shockmount. This allows you to access switches on your microphone without affecting your carefully-placed positioning.
Second, we source aerospace-grade suspension bands that won’t break, sag, crack, or stretch over time. The bands can be positioned either vertically/horizontally or diagonally, to tightly hold microphones of varying diameter. The V1 microphone has slight insets machined into the body, so the suspension bands “lock in” easily to the microphone for a more secure hold.
The main body and knob are precision-cast from a high-grade zinc alloy and finished with a durable powdercoat. The pivot is injection-molded from high-impact ABS to keep your mic placement locked in place. The pivot is also inset with both 5/8″-24 and 3/8″-16 threads to be compatible with any microphone stand.
This shockmount was designed to fit any microphone with a diameter below 30mm, so it can be used with several brands of microphone, including almost any pencil microphone – and even ribbon microphones.
When not in use, your V1S should be stored in its padded pinewood storage case.

Roswell Pro Audio's Mini K47 has become a favorite on drum overheads for many of our customers. See multiple example videos that demonstrate how these mics sound on drums.
We match Mini K47s to 0.5dB in sensitivity (measured at 1kHz), and about 1.5dB in frequency response, 50Hz–15kHz. Acoustic testing is done at Roswell HQ in northern California.
Each microphone includes our exclusive Cutaway™ metal-frame shockmount (with spare elastics), and an aluminum flight case. We also include two Roswell branded microfleece storage bags for the microphones.

Roswell Pro Audio Mini K67x expands the promise of "sonic diversity" by introducing a new sound to the Mini K product line. The capsule voicing strikes a balance between neutrality and flattery, with tight bass and an open top end. The circuit enhances the source with harmonics. The Colares is a large-body condenser microphone with a larger than life sound. It is our flagship vocal microphone, and excels at injecting color, vibe, excitement, and life to a track.

Vanguard V44S Gen2 the second generation Vanguard V44S is a stereo large-diaphragm multi-pattern FET condenser microphone lovingly re-imagined by our team over the last 12 months. This unique microphone is designed to be a versatile, reliable, professional tool in the vein of highly-sought-after vintage stereo condensers of yesteryear. Roswell Pro Audio Mini K67X Matched Pair
Mini K67x is a compact, large-diaphragm condenser with harmonic coloration from its transformer-coupled circuit. The voicing is not overtly colored, but is not as neutral as the Mini K87; the upper mids (4-7kHz) are slightly scooped, and the rolloff above 12kHz is very gradual, giving the mic extended "air."
Each K67x is built by hand in California, burned in, and extensively tested.
Matching Criteria
We match these mics to 0.5dB in sensitivity (measured at 1kHz), and 1.5dB (or better) in frequency response, 50Hz–15kHz.

Royer SF-12 Stereo Ribbon Microphone
The SF-12 stereo coincident ribbon microphone combines high quality audio performance with outstanding stereo separation and imaging. An SF-12 is actually two matched ribbon microphones placed one above the other; each aimed 45 degrees from center in the classic Blumlein configuration. Retro. Futuristic. We are proud to introduce Technical Grammy Award Winner David Royer’s modern take on a legend – the Sony C-37a. Known for its high headroom and ability to tame brittle high end, it became a workhorse in the 60’s, especially during the golden age of Hollywood recording – the “Wrecking Crew’ era. Studios such as Capitol Records and Sunset Sound acquired multiples, which are still use today. From Leonard Bernstein and the Columbia Symphony Orchestra and VO legend Mel Blanc (the voice of over 400 characters, from Bugs Bunny to Barney Rubble) though producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Peter Gabriel) and current artists, such as Bon Iver, the C-37a remains a ‘secret weapon’ microphone for those in the know. David Royer, who has been a fan of the C-37a for thirty years, has long desired to o er his updated version to the Mojave family – and that time has come. He states, “Sony took a completely different approach than Neumann and AKG, which made the C-37a a completely different animal”.
PEARLMAN MICROPHONES TM-250
This new addition to the PEARLMAN line is a limited edition, custom order recreation of the famous Telefunken 250. Starting at the top this microphone utilizes a C12 type capsule hand-made in Denmark by Tim Campbell. A genuine AKG™ CK-12 capsule can be installed (whenever they are available) for an additional price. Old style carbon resistors are used in the audio circuit to maintain the original sound. A select 6072 (12AY7) tube is hand picked and tested for use in the microphone as only the best tubes will be used.
The CINEMAG output transformer is an accurate replica of the original part from a sixties era Tele 250 and delivers that beautiful, vintage smoothness.
All mics are still hand-made one at a time and are wired point-to-point. Included in the system is the custom American made power supply, shockmount, hand wired Mogami cable, and a smart looking aluminum carrying case.
Royer Labs SF-2 Active Ribbon Microphone
The SF-2 ribbon microphone is a phantom-powered version of the original SF-1 ribbon microphone. Designed primarily for classical applications and acoustic instruments, the SF-2 combines high-quality audio performance with an exclusive active electronics for ribbon microphones. The SF-2’s output of -38 dB puts its sensitivity on par with that of phantom powered condenser microphones, allowing it to be used with a wide variety of mic pres regardless of gain characteristics. The unique electronics and custom designed FET’s used in the SF-2 deliver ultra-quiet operation, with self-noise of lower than 18 dB.

"K47" refers to the capsule design. The capsule in this microphone is modeled after the one in the most famous microphone of all time. It provides a full, balanced tone without any harshness or hype in the upper frequencies. It will record less sibilance and fewer mouth sounds on your next vocal track. Chandler Limited TG Microphone - Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
The Chandler Limited EMI Abbey Road Studios ‘TG Microphone’ is a solid-state large diaphragm condenser microphone. Continuing the rich tradition of innovation, the TG Microphone is unique in its feature-set and as the name implies, the sound is TG.
The TG Microphone’s unique on-board EMI ‘Tape Equalizer’ section combined with its ‘Dual Tone System’, dedicated PSU and other features create an extremely flexible microphone capable of rivaling scenarios where the FET47, C414, U87, and U47 traditionally have found favor.
The Tape Equalizer is adapted from the NAB/IEC tape equalizer facility found on vintage EMI TG mastering desks, and applied to great effect in the TG Microphone. Historically used to compensate for tapes played back on machines of the opposite standard, the repurposed tape equalizer allows the engineer to sculpt the sound at the source in lieu of external processing.

The MA-300 is a multi-pattern large diaphragm, vacuum tube condenser microphone. Based upon the widely accepted MA-200 designed by David Royer, the MA-300 adds a continuously variable pickup pattern selector, 15dB pad and a switchable bass roll-off. The MA-300 gives warm, full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the shrillness and high frequency distortion artifacts that are often encountered with modern condenser microphones.
Utilizing hand-selected, double diaphragm 3-micron capsules, high-quality Jensen audio transformers and military-grade JAN 5840 vacuum tubes, the MA-300 performs at a level reminiscent of some of the best loved classic condenser microphones. The MA-300 power supply can be set for 115V and 230V, 50 or 60 Hz, through an internal switch (100V is also available). Each MA-300 microphone, power supply and cable set is burned in for 24 hours, carefully tested and evaluated, then packaged in its protective case-within-a-case.
