TG HISTORY
Conceived from meetings in 1967 between Abbey Road engineers and EMI’s Central Research Laboratories technical team, the EMI TG12345 desk (later known as the Mark I), would usher in a sea change in sound and flexibility at Abbey Road Studios.
The new transistor based EMI TG12345 recording console was modular in design, with twelve dual channel microphone cassettes. The TG desks featured expanded EQ, and for the first time ever, a compressor/limiter on every channel.
Installed in Abbey Road’s Studio Two in November 1968 and making its debut on an 8-track recording by the Shadows, the new transistor desk marked a departure from the earlier REDD valve consoles. The following year, the EMI TG12345 desk helped shape the sound of the Beatles’ final album, Abbey Road, which was markedly richer sounding to that of the band’s earlier work. The sonic qualities of classics like “Here Comes the Sun,” “Come Together” and “Something” would have been very different without the EMI TG12345.
The desk encountered many revisions throughout the ‘70s and became the main recording console used throughout the studios until 1983. The EMI TG12345 console Marks I–IV were used on everything from Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here to John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band, George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass to epic film scores including Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The EMI TG12345 recording consoles were never commercially available to the public.

ACME Audio Motown EQ - 7-band graphic equalizer
In the continuing effort to faithfully recreate classic Motown audio products for today’s recording studios, Acme Audio is proud to announce the highly anticipated release of the Motown EQ. An absolute legend among audio engineers and producers, only 48 of the original Motown EQs were ever produced and it’s considered one of Chief Engineer Mike McLean's pinnacle achievements at Motown Studios. With its transformer balance audio path and gain makeup amplifier section, this 7-band graphic equalizer was a vast improvement to the products that were commercially available in the Motown era. Acme Audio had the honor of spending several weeks with the late Mike McLean reverse engineering an original Motown EQ and had his ongoing guidance to faithfully recreate and reintroduce this classic piece of equipment to the recording world.
No components were compromised in this reproduction… every inductor, capacitor, and transformer was either sourced from original manufacturers or painstakingly recreated to match the performance and sonic quality of the original Motown EQ. In essence, this is the closest you will ever come to owning this essential piece of recording history.

MOTHER WAI 2950 (wire and iron) is a 3-Band, completely discrete class A inductor based ,500 series eq. In a way, we recreated the legendary W295, an EQ famous for its magically beautiful “high shelf” and real vintage vibe, the secret weapon of many producers over the past decades. Input and output are balanced by Mother's custom high class transformers. A special challenge was the output transformer, which with the integrated LPF at 20khz is a really critical element to not lose the well-known sonic character and the choice ultimately fell on the 50% Nickel core. Also, the impedance of the input transformer, (which in the geniune unit was relatively low) was incrased to today's standards and all this resulted in an extended low freq response and a slightly “excited” sound, if we compare it with the Siemens module. The PCB board is full of NOS BSX46 Phillips transistors, and as much as possible Siemens NOS film capacitors. All controls are stepped.
How it sounds?
Completely magical, huge, but still focused low end and incredibly sweet highs, creamy
mid range, very characteristic for an inductor based circuit.
Where can it be used?
Anywhere where you actually want character and sweetness.

Buzz Audio ZODIAK - Dual channel tilt and filter equalizer
Equalize a different way with the Zodiak's four complimentary tone control sections creating a powerful new sound shaping tool.
The "Tilt-n-Filter" EQ idea was delivered to us by Zak Cohen, owner of the Woodshop Recording Studio, and it is based on a series of plug-ins Zak would routinely set up to equalize music tracks recorded direct into his DAW. The Zodiak reproduces this concept with the same series of eq elements - but in the analogue domain so it can used ahead of the DAW input. The main element of the design is the Baxandall style Tilt eq circuit (originally found on the Quad 44 hifi preamplifer from the 1970's). The concept of a tilt EQ is not new, but with the addition of a fully parametric midrange band and high and low cut filters, the Zodiak caters for a wide range of applications that would otherwise require multiple processors. What's more - the Zodiak is available with three signal path options to suit your taste and budget.

Purple Audio LILPEQr et LILPEQr-M
Emulate the colorful 3D richness and useful responses of our favorite vintage tube (aka valve) program EQs (namely, the Lang PEQ-1 and the Klangfilm RZ062), but in a compact, solid-state format.
Purple Audio TAV is a ten-band inductor-based graphic EQ. Designed to work in standard “500″ racks designed by Ed Anderson for Purple Audio.
An illuminated pushbutton for relay true bypass (green) allows for easy comparison with unprocessed source material. A Tricolor LED meters the signal. The frequency response is +/- 0.25dB from 15Hz to 25kHz, and -3dB at 60kHz.A new take on the console graphic, with ten easy to use bands. Each band uses a high quality inductor and carefully selected caps to set the center frequency. At full boost and full cut the bands are narrow enough to still be useful individually, but at lower settings the bands widen out for more gentle shaping. Even at full boost and cut, the filters are shaped to be musical and useful.
With specialized input and output transformers, the TAV has plenty of headroom, even at full boost. The entire circuit is discrete, with no electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, and no servo amps. With only two active stages, the current draw is low enough to work in any rack, and leave plenty of juice for other modules. The Tav uses one KDJ3 op-amp and one KDJ4 op-amp.
Chandler Limited RS124 Mastering, Matched Pair and stepped - EMI/Abbey Road Tube Compressor
The Chandler Limited RS124 Compressor is a recreation of one of the most coveted audio valve compressors of all time, the legendary EMI/Abbey Road RS124, reimagined for use in the modern studio environment.
The RS124, a “variable-mu” compressor circuit, was built for use at Abbey Road Studios, and was never commercially available until now.
Along with features traditionally found on the original counterparts, Input control, Output attenuation, ‘Recovery’ (release) control and the unique ‘HOLD’ setting, the Chandler Limited RS124 Compressor includes modern facilities such as adjustable attack, selectable output impedance, and a special twist, dubbed the ‘SuperFuse’.
The RS124 brings home the sound of a legend, reimagined for the modern era, today.
Chandler Limited TG2 - Two Channel Mic Preamp/DI
The Chandler Limited TG2 is a recreation of the rare EMI TG12428 pre amp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles used in the late 60's and early 70's. The sound was used on many famous recordings done at Abbey Road including The Beatles "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon." The amplifiers were also used in many EMI circuits of the time. Our version was remade from original design notes and circuit board drawings, provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticity!
This Mic Pre features the same discrete transformer balanced amplifiers as the TG series limiter and offers a creamy, smooth tone with a surprisingly open, clear top end (dare we say nicer than Neve....) The sound, as explained by many users, has the Neve "warmth" and punch, but with a "nicer" expanded top end. In fact the unit does have a small rise in its top end frequency response and some warmth inducing distortion which contribute to its sound.
Chandler Limited TG1 Limiter - Dual EMI Abbey Road Compressor/Limiter
The Chandler Limited TG1 is a recreation of the classic EMI TG12413 Limiter used in custom EMI and Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles from the late 60's. The TG Limiter was originally designed to be like the Fairchild 660/670 which was loved by many EMI engineers, including Geoff Emerick, but ended up with a very special sound all its own. These rare pieces were never commercially available and only EMI owned studios had access to them. Our version has been remade from the original design information and circuit board drawings as provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticity!
TG1 Updates & Modifications: Harmonic Distortion Function
Now standard on all Abbey Road Special Edition TG-1's, this option allows bypassing of the compressor/limiter threshold but leaves all circuits in the signal path, turning the unit into a powerful Harmonic Distortion generator capable of kicking out up to 2% Total Harmonic Distortion. That's more than 2 times the amount of analog tape! And all with 100% discrete transformer balanced circuits. Adjust the input for amount of THD and the output to match level. Try running Distortion on one channel and hard limiting on the other. The ultimate in retro! This option is placed on the front panel of the unit with a toggle switch for each channel.

The TG12345 MKIV EQ for 500 Series, inherits from Chandler Limited’s TG Microphone Cassette and flagship TG12345 Curve Bender, and draws its heritage from the input and group channel equalizers found on historic EMI TG12345 recording consoles of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
The TG12345 MKIV control-set includes: presence and bass bands, with continuous boost/cut, and true bypass.
The presence band is switchable, featuring eight frequencies and an out position. The first seven frequencies are bell type, and the eighth is a shelf at 10 kHz.
The bass band is a shelving type, featuring two frequency options, 90 or 150 Hz.
Chandler Limited TG2 500 - 500 Series Preamp
Building upon the popularity of the company’s acclaimed TG2 Pre Amp / DI, the TG2-500 delivers the classic sound of the EMI TG12428 pre amp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles in the late 60s and early 70s—in the company’s 500 series module form factor.
Using the identical TG2 circuit, transistors, and transformers, the TG2-500 delivers 10 – 60 dB of gain and uses a coarse gain control and a fine gain control as found on EMI consoles. The unit provides 300 and 1200 Ohm input impedance as on the TG2.
CHANDLER LIMITED TG Opto Compressor - 500 Series Optical Compressor
The Chandler Limited TG Opto compressor is a handmade, fully discrete, mono, dual space module, designed for the 500 Series format.
The TG Opto for 500 Series is a relative of the TG1 Opto, found in Chandler Limited’s TG Microphone Cassette, the TG1 Limiter and Zener Limiter, and traces its lineage to the historic EMI TG12413 limiters found on the TG12345 mixing and mastering consoles of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
The TG Opto compressor control-set includes: selectable sharp and rounded knees, continuous input, output (makeup gain), attack, release, and true bypass.
CHANDLER LIMITED TG12411 Channel - TG Channel MKII Channel Strip
The Chandler Limited TG12411 channel, formerly known as the TG Channel MKII, is a recreation of several classic circuits - combining Wade Goeke's design of the TG2 pre amp section with an equalizer that was redesigned from a circuit used in the TG12410 Transfer Console, the mastering counterpart to the original "Beatles desks."
The active portions of the unit use the same discrete amplifiers and transformers as in the TG1 Limiter and TG2 pre amp. The TG12411's passive equalizer EQ is an all inductor design offering sweet high frequencies, large inductor based lows, and a very high "Q" mid cut section. Its sound is very comparable to Pultec and Lang program EQs. A simple description would be a TG Pultec with a TG pre amp thrown in.
All TG units require and function on the PSU-1, Chandler Limited power supply. The PSU-1 has an internal switch for setting voltage to 120V or 220V (115V/230V). For more information please call us at (319) 885-4200.
NOTE: As of late 2016, the TG Channel MKII was renamed the TG12411; there has been no modification to the MKII circuit.

Chandler Limited Little Devil Equalizer - 500 Series 4 band Parametric EQ Module
The Chandler Little Devil Equalizer uses all discrete circuits that combine Chandler's best designs with the hottest designs from the past, transformer balanced everything, and the American hand made quality you expect from Chandler, the LITTLE DEVILS will take the lunchbox UP to the next level...
Chandler Limited Little Devil Preamp
The Little Devil Pre Amp might be the best piece of Chandler gear yet! Several things make it so special.
The class A gain stage sounds like no other design we've done. It's big, yet open and full of life. Just about any parameter of the sound is changeable including the ability to change both the Feedback and Bias of the amplifier. The Feedback control increases harmonics thousands of times over the range of the control. The nature of clipping and distortion also changes and ranges from soft Class A clipping to super soft gushy tube type. The sounds range from a very colored and "overbiased" tone to a gently colored and "in your face" tone.
The Chandler Limited Mini Mixer is the culmination of Chandler's experience working with many types of vintage, discrete circuits. The Mini Rack Mixer traces its lineage back to several types of these amplifiers developed in the 60's and 70's that have been Chandlerized for modern usage.
Each Channel of the 16x2 Mixer is transformer balanced and driven by the New Chandler Line Amp, which borrows from Chandler's other products but has been redesigned for use in this mixer. The Mini Mixer is jam-packed with discrete amps and classic sound, 20 discrete amplifiers and 22 custom wound transformers in the unit, and delivering all the punch and tone you need for today's digital environment.
Chandler Limited Mini Rack Mixer Expander - 16 Channel Expander for Mini Rack Mixer
The Expander for Chandler Limited Mini Rack Mixer allows you to expand it to 32 channels or more (with more expanders) when combined with the Chandler Limited Mini Mixer.
Together, these units make an attractive, space-saving mixer for studios that are moving from a full-size mixer to a more hybrid setup with a digital audio workstation, but still need enough channels to control your machine's outputs (DAW or tape). Each channel is transformer balanced and driven by Chandler's new Line Amplifier, which is borrowed from other Chandler products but has been redesigned for use in the mixing console and expander. Like the Mini Mixer, the Expander is filled with discrete amps and classic sounds. The unit features 20 discrete amplifiers and 22 custom wound transformers. So it delivers all the punch and tone you need in today's digital environment.
Chandler Limited's Expander mini-mixer is only an additional 16 channels of the mixing section and therefore does not contain a monitor and master control section . Contact Floating Point Audio to build your system!
Chandler Limited PSU-1 - External Power Supply
All Chandler Limited units require an external power supply. This avoids noise and hum interference. The PSU-1 can supply up to two units (except the Mini Rack Mixer).
Chandler Limited Curve Bender - 2-Channel TG12345 Curve Bender Equalizer
The EMI TG12345 Curve Bender is the ultimate TG equalizer issued in celebration of the 75th birthday of Abbey Road Studios. The Curve Bender was conceived by Chandler Limited designer Wade Goeke and Abbey Road senior engineer Peter Cobbin and is based on the vintage EMI TG12345 desk used to record The Beatles and Pink Floyd. This newest EMI equalizer continues the tradition of EMI eqs started in 1951 with the RS56, affectionately entitled the Curve bender by EMI designers and continued with the TG12345 in 1968, and TG12412 in 1974. The newest version takes the simple but beautiful sounding TG12345 equalizer and realizes it in a fully featured and rethought package for today's use.

Chandler Limited Germanium Compressor GCOMP - One Channel Germanium Compressor
The GERM Comp uses the same all class A amp found in the GERM Pre and Tone Control and is transformer balanced in and out. The Compression circuit uses a FET gain reduction element but with the tricks and flexibilty of all the GERM units. Some of the most notable additions include a WET/DRY mix (for "submixing" tracks within the comp), COMP CURVE (which selects the knee using various diode combinations), CLEAN/DIRTY COMP, and SIDECHAIN FILTER. Many of the GERM Comp parameters have been purposely set by studio use and listening, not by over analyzing them with test gear. The result is a musical powerhouse for ready for tracking, mixing, and mastering.
