It boasts the exact same European style circuit, tubes, transformers, and high-end components as its PS6 sibling but with a more elegant and user-friendly design. Simply put - The CA-286S is the easiest way to get those Hi-Fidelity EF86 tube tones into your studio.

Coil Auio CT-110 Nickel-Iron Input Transformer
Based on a punchy 1960's small signal coil. It's perfect for all-around use and excels at high transient material. The design gives it a very forward, rich mid-range, with smooth saturation in the highs and lows.

The CT-110 or CT-110HN transformers can be ordered for either CA-70 or CA-286 modules.

Based on a rare 1950's high fidelity coil. Detail oriented, it adds an excellent top and bottom extension and smooth, breathy saturation.

Coil Audio CA-286 Modular Microphone/Line Amplifier
The CA-286 preamp module is a tribute to the classic 1950’s and 60’s European two-stage amplifier made popular by Telefunken™, Langevin™, Collins™, and Gates™. The CA-286 excels in high fidelity recording applications providing the rich, detailed midrange often associated with vintage EF86 tube based preamps.

The CA-286 preamp module uses Coil Audio's CT-110 (optional) or CT-110HN (by default) and CT-41 output transformers, high quality capacitors, resistors, and NOS octal tubes and is powered by our PS6 Rack Tray and Power Supply, sold separately.

Coil Audio CA-70S 2U Microphone/Line Tube Amplifier
The CA-70S single channel preamplifier is a 2U standalone version of our CA-70 preamp module. Power is housed on board, and a streamlined control layout. It boasts the exact same American style circuit, tubes, transformers, and high-end components as its PS6 sibling but with an elegant, user-friendly design. Simply put, the CA-70S is the easiest way to get those classic heavy Octal tube tones into your studio.

Coil Auio PS6 Rack Tray & Power Supply
House and power up to six CA-70 a CA-286 modules. The PS6 Rack Tray and PSU is comprised of a 7U Rack Tray and a separate 2U power supply. The 'soft-start'/standby feature allows you to switch the Filament and B+ voltages on and off separately.

Coil Audio CA-70 Modular Microphone / Line Tube Amplifier
The CA-70 preamplifier module pays homage to the classic American two-stage circuit invented by Western Electric in 1913 and manufactured by multiple companys from the 1930's through the 1950's – most notably RCA, Gates, and Langevin. This old octal tube circuit has a huge thick tone and is what many consider to be the quintessential “ old tube preamp ” sound.

The CA-70 preamp module uses Coil Audio's CT-110 or CT-110HN (by default) input and CT-41 output transformers, high quality capacitors, resistors, and NOS octal tubes. It's powered by Coil Audio PS6 Rack Tray and Power Supply.
